This page draws on Signos production CGM data logged between the pipeline's collection window, covering 22,066 meals containing bagels across 7,026 unique members (broader cohort), with a single-item sub-cohort of 957 meals (578 unique members) where a bagel was logged without other foods. Statistical comparisons use Welch's t-test on matched pairs; all modifier effects cited carry p<0.001 unless noted. Cohort filtering restricts to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular'). We report mean peak glucose rise across what is a right-skewed distribution; the median is typically a few mg/dL lower than the mean — here, the single-item median is +39 mg/dL vs. a mean of +41.5 mg/dL. Bagel meals were identified via regex matching on logged food names. A minimum of 100 matched meals is required for any food pairing to appear in the recipe builder; modifier slots with fewer than 100 logs are excluded from that feature.

Limitations

  • Self-reported portion sizes introduce noise — a 'medium bagel' in member logs may range from 85g to 140g, directly affecting carb load and peak estimates.
  • Cohort skews health-motivated; members using CGMs tend to be more metabolically aware than the general population, so average responses may be lower than a representative sample would show.
