Modifier comparisons use Welch's t-test on matched pairs from the broader 13,369-meal dataset, where larger N supports more reliable statistical inference. Data is filtered to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular'). A minimum of 100 matched meals is required for any pairing to appear in the recipe builder; smaller sub-cohorts are flagged or omitted.
