This page draws on 3,112 single-item ground beef logs (meals where ground beef was logged alone, no pairings) from 1,776 unique Signos members, plus a broader 55,527-meal cohort spanning all meal contexts where ground beef appeared, collected through the Signos production CGM platform. Data were filtered to postprandial glucose responses (PPGR) between 0 and 100 mg/dL to exclude sensor artifacts and implausible readings. Modifier effects were estimated using Welch's t-test on matched pairs against a defined baseline; all reported effects carry p<0.001 unless noted. The food was identified in member logs using a regex matching 'ground beef,' 'hamburger patty,' 'beef patty,' 'taco meat,' 'meatball,' 'meatloaf,' and 'bolognese,' explicitly excluding plant-based imitations (Beyond Meat, Impossible Burger) and turkey/chicken meatball variants. Any carb-pair or fat-pair slot requires at least 30 matched meals before it appears in the recipe builder; high-confidence designation requires 500+ matched meals.

Limitations

  • Self-reported portion sizes introduce measurement error — a logged '4 oz patty' may vary significantly in actual weight and fat content (80/20 vs. 90/10 lean), affecting per-serving spike estimates.
