The dominant modifier in the cohort is sugar content: high-sugar meals (≥20g, n=1,816) spiked 35.3% above the low-sugar baseline (p<0.001), closely tracking the caramel-corn premium of +13.7 mg/dL. Total carb load at the meal is the secondary lever — crossing ≥60g carbs pushed responses 36.1% higher (p<0.001, n=2,494). These are observational associations, not established causal pathways.
This page draws on Signos production CGM data logged between March 2025 and April 2026, covering 22,164 meals containing popcorn across 7,587 unique members (broader cohort), with a single-item sub-cohort of 11,084 meals (5,235 unique members) where popcorn was logged without other foods. Statistical comparisons use Welch's t-test on matched pairs; all modifier effects cited carry p<0.001 unless noted. Cohort filtering restricts to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular'). Single-item mean peak was +35.8 mg/dL; median +33 mg/dL; IQR 29 mg/dL. Popcorn logs were identified via regex matching on logged food names, with explicit exclusions for 'popcorn chicken' and 'popcorn shrimp'. A minimum of 100 matched meals is required for any sub-cohort to appear in the recipe builder; the SkinnyPop sub-cohort (n=17) is excluded from the builder on this basis.
