Data was filtered to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular') to exclude outliers and sensor artifacts. Statistical comparisons between modifier groups use Welch's t-test on matched pairs; all effects reported at p<0.05 minimum, with the dominant modifiers reaching p<0.001. The page primary cohort is the single-item subset: 604 meals where spaghetti was the only logged item (451 unique members), yielding a mean peak of +36.6 mg/dL, median +35 mg/dL, IQR p25 +21 / p75 +49. This tighter filter excludes composite logs such as 'spaghetti and meatballs' or 'spaghetti with sauce' — retaining only meals where spaghetti itself was logged alone. The broader 14,922-meal cohort underlies the modifier swap calculator, where subgroup N requirements make the larger pool necessary. Spaghetti logs were identified via a regex cohort match on the canonical food name 'Spaghetti' and its sub-forms (regular, whole-wheat, gluten-free, lentil/chickpea pasta, zucchini noodles); 'spaghetti squash' was explicitly excluded from the cohort regex as it is a different food entirely.   • Butter / olive-oil-only sauce returned only 12 qualifying meals and is excluded from the published swap table (confidence='fail') — its directional +14.4 mg/dL reading should be treated as suggestive only.
