This page draws on 8,609 single-item turkey logs (meals where turkey was logged alone, no pairings) from 4,447 unique Signos members, plus a broader 90,038-meal cohort spanning all meal contexts where turkey appeared, collected through the Signos production CGM platform. Data were filtered to postprandial glucose responses (PPGR) between 0 and 100 mg/dL to exclude sensor artifacts and implausible readings. Modifier effects were estimated using Welch's t-test on matched pairs against a defined baseline; all reported effects carry p<0.001 unless noted. Turkey was identified in member logs using a regex anchored to the word "turkey", excluding turkey-bacon, turkey-broth, turkey-jerky, and country-of-Turkey strings. Any pairing slot requires a minimum of 30 matched meals; high-confidence reporting requires 500+. The recipe builder modifier table was computed on a slightly broader cohort (n=90,038) to provide stable slot-level estimates.

Limitations

  • Self-reported portion sizes introduce measurement error — a logged '3 oz deli turkey' may vary in actual weight and preparation, affecting per-serving spike estimates.
  • Cohort skews health-motivated; Signos members actively tracking glucose tend to eat more mindfully than the general population, so real-world average spikes may differ.
  • The mashed-potato carb-pair sub-cohort is smaller (n=1,025) relative to the sandwich sub-cohort (n=6,896); while high-confidence by our threshold, interpret the +17.4 mg/dL delta with slightly more caution than the sandwich estimate.
