Unsweetened almond milk — the default in 20,374 of those logs — averaged +25 mg/dL, essentially flat. The cohort's median peak was +22 mg/dL and the IQR ran from +13 to +35 mg/dL. Context drives almost all of the variance: in coffee (n=13,411) the mean held at +25.7 mg/dL, in a smoothie (n=1,638) it dropped to +23.7 mg/dL, but on cereal or oatmeal (n=3,996) it climbed to +32.4 mg/dL. The flavored variants barely move the needle either — vanilla averaged +24.7 mg/dL (n=4,087) and chocolate +23.4 mg/dL (n=104). Total carb load at the meal level is the dominant lever — these are observational findings, not causal.

Almond milk's glucose profile is shaped by what it isn't. Unsweetened almond milk has roughly 1g of carbs per cup and almost no protein or fat — it's mostly water, almonds, and emulsifiers. That makes it a near-neutral vehicle for whatever it carries. Across 41,823 logs, the average glucose peak was +25.8 mg/dL, with 46.6% of responses in the low-spike tier (under +20 mg/dL). The biggest amplifier in the broader dataset is total meal carb load: meals with ≥60g carbs (n=3,248) spiked 61.9% above the light-carb baseline (p<0.001), and the carb-bucket gradient runs from +23.4 mg/dL at 0–40g to +42.7 mg/dL at 110g+ — an 82.5% escalation. High sugar (≥20g, n=4,799) added another 48.4% on top. The single largest context shift inside the slot is on cereal or oatmeal (+7 mg/dL across 3,996 logs); coffee and smoothies barely move the needle. All effects are observational, not established as causal.
This page draws on Signos production CGM data logged between March 2025 and April 2026, covering 41,823 meals containing almond milk across 5,972 unique members, with a single-item sub-cohort of 1,760 meals (762 unique members) where almond milk was logged without other foods. Statistical comparisons use Welch's t-test on matched pairs; all modifier effects cited carry p<0.001 unless noted otherwise. Cohort filtering restricts to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular'). We report mean peak glucose rise; the distribution is right-skewed and the cohort median is +22 mg/dL vs. a mean of +25.8 mg/dL. Almond milk logs were identified via regex matching on logged food names, with form variants (unsweetened, sweetened, vanilla, chocolate) tagged via secondary keyword matching. A minimum group threshold of 30 matched meals is required for any modifier to appear in the calculator; high-confidence threshold is ≥500 logs. The barista / extra-creamy form (n=2) was suppressed from the recipe builder for failing the minimum-group threshold.
