Statistical comparisons use Welch's t-test on matched pairs; modifier effects cited with p-values are noted inline. Cohort filtering restricts to meals with a measured glucose rise between 0 and 100 mg/dL (ppgr_case='regular'). The single-item cohort (n=216) is medium-confidence per Signos publish thresholds (100–499 logs); all cited effects should be treated as directional rather than high-precision estimates. Vanilla wafer meals were identified via regex matching on logged food names (vanilla wafers, Nilla wafers). A minimum of 30 matched meals is required for any modifier to appear in the analysis; modifier slots with fewer than 30 logs are excluded.
