The dominant lever measured in the full cohort is meal-level carb load: meals with ≥60g of carbs ran 54% higher than the low-carb baseline (CI: +12.72 to +13.68 mg/dL, n=7,922, p<0.001), and the carb-bucket analysis shows escalation from +24.5 mg/dL in light meals to +42.5 mg/dL in very-heavy (110g+) builds — a 73% jump. Methodology

This page draws on 57,892 logged regular-yogurt meals from 10,061 unique Signos members, with 7,305 of those logs flagged as single-item (yogurt eaten without other tracked items), collected through the Signos production CGM platform between March 2025 and April 2026. Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt, yogurt drinks, and yogurt-covered snacks are excluded from this cohort and covered on separate pages. Data were filtered to postprandial glucose responses (PPGR) between 0 and 100 mg/dL to exclude sensor artifacts. Modifier effects were estimated using Welch's t-test on matched pairs against a defined baseline; all reported effects carry p<0.001 unless noted (the morning-timing modifier fell below significance at p=0.13). We report mean glucose peak across a right-skewed distribution — the median peak of +22 mg/dL is a few mg/dL lower than the single-item mean of +25.1 mg/dL, which is typical for this type of data. Any form or topping option requires at least 30 matched meals before it appears in the recipe builder; high-confidence options require 500+.

Limitations

  • Self-reported portion sizes introduce measurement error — a logged "3/4 cup" of yogurt may vary in actual weight, affecting the accuracy of per-serving spike estimates.
  • Cohort skews health-motivated; Signos members actively tracking glucose tend to eat more mindfully than the general population, so real-world average spikes may differ.
  • The blueberry-yogurt sub-cohort is smaller (n=726) — its +5 mg/dL delta versus plain is high-confidence on the matched-pair test, but may firm up further as the sample grows.
  • The morning-timing modifier (−0.9%, p=0.13) did not reach statistical significance and should be treated as a null finding rather than a signal.
  • Modifier analyses reflect meal-level correlations, not controlled feeding trials — causality cannot be established from observational CGM data alone.
